VMK House Rules
Whether this is your first time online or you're a seasoned visitor, we've spelled out our house rules for you here. Generally speaking, these rules simply require respect and good manners. Use common sense and you'll feel right at home.
Our specific house rules:
In VMK when it comes to messaging, or chat of any kind, we don't allow obscene, racist, or sexually explicit language, nor do we allow chat or activities that are not consistent with the VMK site. We reserve the right to remove postings and communications that defame or insult anyone, as well as notes that are abusive or hateful. Any harassing comments or messages that might be construed as stalking will be deleted and made available to the proper law-enforcement officials.
No solicitations or advertisements are allowed. These include advertisements for your business or latest get-rich-quick scheme. Such notes add clutter and devalue conversation.
You may not suggest or encourage illegal activity. In regards to any illegal or questionable behavior we will assist law-enforcement officials.
You can not use VMK to communicate works copyrighted by other people.
You must respect the privacy of individuals. This means no communication or solicitation of phone numbers, addresses, Social Security numbers, or any other personally identifiable information.
You participate at your own risk in messaging and chat. Keep your password secret, you are responsible for communications from your VMK Character Use information provided by other players at your own risk. VMK takes no responsibility for the content or opinions, from chat, or messaging, or any other communication.
If you see any communication that you feel violates any of the above house rules, please notify the community host by clicking on the 'Help' button in the game, or the Contact Us link on the website.
You will have the opportunity to play games within VMK in order to earn rewards. These rewards are subject to change and may have limited availability. In-Park rewards do not include Park admission.
Don't buy or sell accounts or items. We reserve the right to cancel any player account that was bought or sold, or player accounts that have bought or sold items.
By use of this site and the VMK game, you agree to abide by the VMK Terms of Use.
Failure to comply with the rules of VMK may result in your being banned from VMK temporarily or even permanently.
Use good judgment, and enjoy your time in VMK.
think they should do the opposite of what they are doing now, have certain words banned in stead of certain words allowed.
that would not work. too many words in the real dictionary.
Disney must have seen this dilemma coming when they first came up with the concept of VMK. Surely they knew that many Disney-loving adults would be extremely interested, and that it would sort of become a chat room. But it sure seems like they didn't formulate a decent plan for dealing with child/teen/adult interaction before opening up the "gates". Maybe they concluded that there is no solution that can satisfy both the child safety issue and the communication issue.

. I have to say that I find this whole VMK thing simply fascinating 
. It is going to be very interesting to see how Disney manages this juggling act: Maintaining its image of keeping VMK extremely safe for kids, while still allowing its countless adult (and teen) fans to participate, communicate, and exchange ideas/information in even the most innocent manner. Disney knows that the adults are typically the ones controlling the money. And we all know adults who have already been to the parks to do the quests, tours, etc. - many of whom did so without any children present.
