I absolutely hate my current job, as some of you may remember me saying. Not the job itself, but my higher ups. Too long detail to go into, just suffice to say, I about cried every night I was scheduled to work.

Sunday night, I had simply had enough. I talked to DH and then I put in my resignation. Nothing lined up.....I just knew I had to be away from there for my own sanity.

First thing Monday, I went to a nursing home that had an ad in the paper. Incredible place........voted as one of the top in the state. Not for profit facility, which BELIEVE me makes a HUGE difference. Awesome benefits including 100%/no deductible health insurance.

Well, they told me the opening they had was on 2nd shift.....I need 3rd. 2nd shift wouldn't work out due to kid issues/never seeing them/etc.

So, I left disappointed. They called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that they just got word that one of their nurses on 3rd was resigning, so for his remaining time they moved him to 2nd and that meant a full-time opening on 3rd and would I want that position!!!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am. Everything about this place just seems awesome. I will have to pick up Cobra health insurance for a bit, but for the sake of my sanity and happiness, it will be money soooooo well spent!! Just had to share! I am soooooooooo excited and happy and thrilled and looking forward to something again!!!

Congratulations! I know what you mean about "higher ups".

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW JOB!!!!!!:jumping1:

Congratulations on the new job. I recall sayning that you disliked the other job, good for you for leaving.

Congratulations!

If a job brings you to the point of tears, you HAVE to get out of there. I'm happy for you - best of luck in the new position!

Congrats to the residents at the new place as well. They just received a gift they don't know about yet. ::yes::

Wonderful news! Congratulation. I hope you enjoy your new job.

very cool:) congrat s on the new job:) hope things are good with you and yours:)

I just wanted to congradulate you on your new job. I'm currently taking a CNA course so I can get into the medical field. It's really hard around here to get into a 2-year nursing course(40 slots get 400+ applicants) and being 35 with 2 DD's ages 10 & 5 and DH's job can keep him late at any moment, school would be hard right now. DH went thru the pains of leaving a "cushy" job he had for over 11 years because he just couldn't deal with his big boss and all the "titles" that were totally useless.

Anyway...just wanted to let you know that Cobra is outragious!!!:scared1: For me, DH and 2 DD's it would have cost us $900 per month. But the good news is that they give you alot of time to make up your mind whether or not to take it. I was lucky enough that DH was really the only one who had medical bills during the time we needed it outside of only 1 dd needing a visit to the doctors. I gladly paid the $80 when the bill came in. We were able to have the visits billed and DH physical therapy group held off billing us because they knew we were in the process of getting cobra. When you are billed from cobra for your coverage they give you thirty days, sometimes more to actually pay for the previous month. So if you did not have any use for it and you get insurance in the mean time you can save some money. Just pay attention to the due dates for all your notices. I only had to pay for 1 full month and about 3 weeks of another for DH and I saved alot of money. They will also give you the choice of who to insure, like just you, you and DH, you and kids or everyone. DH's last day of his job was 1/9/04 and it took just a few days shy of 60 days for the paperwork to show up and we had until the end of March to make a decision on the insurance.

Just wanted to give you some input on my experience with cobra as a fyi. Hope it helps you and good luck with your new job!
