Staying at the Royal Plaza for first night before settling into AKL/BC. I heard you can walk to DTD from here and was wondering what would be the best place to eat dinner. We've done Rainforest Cafe and will be doing it again at the AK. Also, I've heard bad reviews on Planet Hollywood so we want to steer away from there. We have 3 boys(12, 15 &18) so is there any restaurants here that you think they would enjoy eating at? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I know this won't be a huge help but just something to keep in mind....you will see reviews both bad and good on most all restaurants I always keep that in mind when choosing......We love PH and have never had a bad experience there at all plus the kids really like the decor of the place, go there every trip and food and service have always been great. I see bad reviews of many on here that I like (or have had good experiences with ) and also great reviews of places we could care less for...For example Wolfgang Puck I have seen many people rave over and we went last year for the first time and I am not sure we will ever go back...we just had a bad experience altogher service, some of the food. etc. My point is check the menus and if you think you may like something give it a try, we love Rainforest but try to steer away from the DTD one because of the huge waits and no ressies unlike the AK one. I read the reviews all the time, and while I completely enjoy and appreciate them, I take them with a grain of salt because each experience is different hope it helps some

Do you want a full meal or a counter service? Raglen Road has been getting good reviews (I'll try it this Fall.) We had a good experience at Planet Hollywood and the servings were huge.
For CS, Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich are good.

Wolfgang Puck Express is very good. We've had pizza, salads, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted chicken. All were excellent.

truthfully, with kids your ages, Planet Hollywood is a great choice. Its loud and crowded, but kids love the movie stuff! My kids also enjoy House of Blues.

We want table service and had originally picked Planet Hollywood. I guess I just picked a time when there seemed to be all negative reviews on it. Our boys do like the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal so I guess we could give Planet Hollywood a try. Thanks for the comments!
By the way, can we make reservations for here and is there a coupon to print out somewhere?

you can make ADR's for PH, and I have seen some posts on here about coupons but can't remember about them perhaps a search would find it for you not sure.

We don't like Rainforest Cafe. Have had nothing but bad experiences at both the DTD and AK restaurant. Earl of Sandwich is pretty good.
