Anyone know how the construction is going in DTD? Is parking still a complete mess?

Yes still a mess. Although the parking garage is now open.

Where is the parking garage located? Is it close to the Marketplace? Is it fully or partially opened? I am trying to decide if we should drive to T-Rex from Uni or take the boat from POR, which would require us to checkin before lunch.

Our experience (from our Jan/ Feb trip - so slower time of year) was if you drive from main Disney to DTD and take the left into the parking garage all is well. No major hassles. If you decide (like we did on our first trip there) to keep driving down to check out the other parking alternatives it is more frustrating. The parking garage is a walk from the Marketplace area but it is a nice walk if you have time.

Does anyone have any experience with driving to DTD from off site? How bad is the traffic/parking situation coming from that direction?

It's not too bad.

We either park in the parking garage or behind cirque du soleil. We don't try to find parking across the street or anywhere else.

Especially now that the bridge over the lake is open connecting near the Lego store to rainforest cafe, it's not too bad of a walk to wherever you want to go.

I found the worst traffic to be during the weekends in the evening. So if possible I would go during the weekday. But DTD is nowhere near bad enough that it should deter people because of the construction

Awesome! Thanks so much for the info. We'll be going on a weekday in the late afternoon/evening of our arrival day, so hopefully it won't be too bad then.
