Are most DTD restaurants counterserve? Or are some table serve as well.

My in-laws informed me today their friends who live in FL will be driving up to meet them for 1 day of our trip, not sure which day yet. They aren't sure what they are doing, but likely won't be with us (need a smiley for phew or dodged bullet). But they might like to have dinner at a resort or DTD.

In my quick search I see restaurants @ DTD take DDP. Will they be able to get ADR's??

TIA.

There are several table service restaurants at DTD. Not all of them are on the dining plan.

Here is a list of table service restaurants in Downtown Disney.

Rainforest Cafe
Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant
Cap'n Jack's Oyster Bar
Fulton's Crab House
Portobello Yacht Club
Bongo's Cuban Cafe
House of Blues
Planet Hollywood
Wolfgank Puck Cafe

Here is a list of their counter service locations.

Earl of Sandwich
Wolfgang Puck Express
McDonald's
Cookes of Dublin

Finally here is a link to the 2008 Disney Dining Plan information and it lists which locations over there accept it. So a location is not listed then the Dining Plan can not be used there. http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm

Thanks for the info! I'm not sure my in-laws realize they need to make ADR's; I told them, but am not sure they really pay attention to what I say.

Anyhow, if they ask for assitance, I will give them the list!

Thanks for the help!

It may not be absolutely necessary to make ADRs at restaurants that do not take the dining plan unless you are traveling at peak times or you want to eat at peak mealtimes on a Friday or Saturday night.

About the above restaurant list: Wolfgang Puck Express is a counter service. There are also two Wolfgang Puck table service restaurants, the WP Cafe and the WP Upstairs Dining Room.

KatMark,

We are just a bit Northeast of you in Mt. Prospect. I see we will be arriving about a week after you!

How a magical trip!

You're welcome.

Even on a Fri or Sat night (in mid August), I've never had a problem walking into a DTD spot or waiting 5-10 minutes for a table. We've done that at Raglan Road, Bongo's, House of Blues, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

It's not like the park restaurants where reservations are all but required.

Thanks, MrsD. I know where Mt. Prospect is--an old boyfriend of mine from high school used to live there. We are so anxious for our anniversary trip--we've had a rough five months with my dad's health. We hope you have a magical trip as well. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
