DtD parking

We're getting the vouchers for APs through MDE and want to pick them up the night before so we have the parking (one of the APs) and don't have to wait in any lines before going in that morning. But I don't want to pay $18 parking to pick them up. Way back when you could park in DtD for 3 hours for free. Do they still do that? Do you have to purchase something or eat dinner for it to be free, or can we just wander and pick up our passes for 3 hours?

Note, there is a good chance you will park in the Simba Lot,and the walk is about 15 minutes just to get to Downtown Disney. so watch your time.

But if you have a printed barcode for the AP with parking, that will let you into the Theme Park lots for free, just show it at the Toll Booth.

I don't know if I'll have a barcode for the AP with parking....I'm planning on using the money in our Disney Vacation Account to buy them, so I'm guessing they'll be on the MDE....would there be something to print there? When I did that for WDW passes we just had them scan our Magic Band to see we had parking on it. DL doesn't have the bands yet though. Hmmm, maybe I need to call Disney to find out how this works....haven't bought them yet so if there is an easier way maybe they'll tell me.

"Theme Park lots"....is that different from Toy Story lot? We've parked in Toy Story before and I seem to recall there is a Mickey lot.....are both of those what you mean?

Theme Park parking are the all day lots, and mainly Mickey and Friends Parking Structure and the Toy Story Lot, though other lots can be used on busy days.

The two main Downtown Disney lots (gated with per hour charges), are the one on north of DtD next to the ESPN Zone/Rainforest cafe, and the Simba Lot west of the Paradise Pier Hotel. You will be sent to the one Disney is parking, based on the day.

Just park in the DTD lot for 2 hours. Pick up the passes, shop around for a bit if you want, and leave. Easy peasy.
