Just wondering how croweded DTD gets for NYE. And I guess I really mean just the marketplace area, not pleasure island. We arrive at WDW on NYE. We definitely are NOT going to a park, but if we arrive early enough, we thought about heading out to the marketplace.

My family & I were at Downtown Disney on NYE last year & I don't think they were much more busier then they are during any days of the year. There was a fair amount of people, however there is always a lot of people walking around Downtown Disney, so there was room to move around. It was not like being at the Magic Kingdom where it's impossible to move around & etc.

Great, thanks!

Now I wonder if we need to try to make a PS somewhere for dinner, or take our chances at DTD and see if we can find something there.

The SD restaurants at DTD get very crowded on NYE. I'd suggest PS unless you want to do CS or wait a long time. Rainforest will be packed as well as Planet Hollywood. You might do better at some place like Raglan Road. It is very big.

If you can't get into the Rainforest Cafe, I suggest Earl Of Sandwich. They make amaizing sandwiches & everything is at a very reasonable price.
