I've never been to a theatre where they serve you actual meals, and I'm thinking of going on this trip. Can anyone tell me how it works? Is it worth it? How expencive is it?

TIA!

We did this a few years ago, not sure if it has changed.

You are let into the theatre early and order your food. Most food is served prior to the start of the movie and you get to eat while you watch the previews and movie. Again, not sure if it has changed.

With is a matter of opinion. It's Disney, the food is not inexpensive. It's a fun experience and was worth doing once (We saw POC latest movie) with our baseball team. You can go online and see the menu with prices I believe. I'm sure they have gone up since we were there. We have a place called Chunky's around here that is similar so we would not do it again, but as a special event during a vacation it was fun.

Thanks for the info! Do you sit at a table, or do you get like a fold out table thing to put your plate on?

We just did this in March and loved it. This is an AMC Fork and Screen at DTD. Yes, there is a long counter-like table in front of the very comfy and roomy theater seats. We all enjoyed our meals and the menu had many choices. (Burgers, pastas, maybe even steak, appetizers, desserts) I believe you can see it on line. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Portions were huge. My husband and I wished we had shared. Not every theater within this AMC location is a Fork and Screen. Also, I highly recommend purchasing your tickets on line before you go. The day we decided to go it was rainy and I decided to advance purchase around noon for an evening show. We got the last four seats! Then we picked up the tickets at the will call desk. When you purchase tickets, you purchase specific seats by looking at a diagram. Because I waited too long, all that was left was in the front row and it was way too close. My neck was killing me! So buy your tickets as soon as you can and definitely reserve seats in the rear portion of the theater. It was fun! We'd do it again. Here is the menu. http://dinein.amctheatres.com/menu

Also, notice that ticket prices vary, depending on the time you select. You can go to the website at experiment with "buying" certain seats without having to enter payment info and see what I mean about selecting seats and pricing.
