DTD-MICKEY'S MART QUESTION
Has anyone been? What's it like and where is it located? I can't find it on the DTD map but on the DTD website it says it is in World of Disney...Any info would be great :thumbsup2

The World or Disney store has many themed areas. There's a jewelry room, a cothes room, a princess/girlie room, a pirates/boys room, a candy/popcorn/nuts room, etc., etc., etc.

Is Mickey's Mart one of these areas? :confused3 I'm sure they give these areas better names than I just did. :teeth:

Its suppose to be its own store, but has anyone recently been? I can't find it on a DTD map, but on the website it talks about the store...anyone????

It is in a little "breezeway" type area near Pooh Corner and Disney Tails. You can enter from either side.

If you got to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/, click on the "map" in the upper right hand corner, and then go to the DTD map, it is number 25. Pooh Corner and Disney Tails are 23 and 24 -

23 Pooh Corner
24 Disney Tails
25 Mickey's Mart - "Everything Ten Dollars and Under"

I've been there - last May. It's not all that. They act like it is going to be super bargains, but a lot of it is the same stuff that you've seen all around the parks that happens to be $10 or less. I bought nothing there.

There really isn't much in there, except as the PP mentioned some stuff that's also under $10 in the parks. I did pick up the Philharmagic Mickey Mouse there.

Well if Mickey's Mart isn't all that, :guilty: would I be better off to skip it and stop at the outlets? :confused3 I wanted my kids 4 and 2 who have been earning their Disney money to spend- to buy what they want...so far they each have $20 and we're not going till December....I know if I take them in the big stores they want things that we can't afford or they don't have enough money for :sad2: ...heartbreaking....but I can't see spending alot of money on things that I know you can get much cheaper online or at the outlets.....

We checked out the outlets & were not impressed. I'm not sure how old your children are & if they are girls or boys but my 2 DDs love to go to the Toy Store at DTD. You can stuff a box for around $15. The front of the store has Mr. Potato Head & any type of hat or accessory that you could ever imagine for Potato Heads. Many people actually buy their potato head back home at Wal Mart & bring it for the kids. That way you can stuff more in the box--the CM just has to be able to close it. At the back of the store is something similar for My Little Pony. My youngest DD did this but they really got into the Potato Head (even my DD teen--I guess you're never too old for Potato Heads). I also found they had some cute games there with Disney Theme such as Disney Candyland or Stitch Trouble. They were in the range of $10 to $15. The store is also not as large as The World of Disney where I always feel like I'm going to loose the girls.

Thanks for the suggestions- my daughter is 4 and my son is 2. What is the name of this store? All I saw was World of Disney, Mickey's Mart and Pooh corner (which I think has closed). Any help and suggestions from everyone would be SO helpful. TIA.

The name of the toy store is Once Upon a Toy. Right across from the Pin Traders. Really cool store.

I agree with the Mr. Potatohead parts, we had potatoes at home, we packed on with us in the suitcase. They also do the same thing with My Little Pony. We came home with 2 boxes of Potatohead pieces and one box of My Little Pony stuff. :)

Can't wait to go back in October, we need more potato pieces, even with two boxes full there was still lots to do!

My mum and I actually really liked Mickey's Mart. They had some cute sales (stuff like 4 items for $10, which ended up being a pretty good deal) and some grab bag type things. Be warned that the grab bags are more or less the same items in each one (but they changed like once a week). But overall it was a pretty fun place. It would probably be a good place to just find things that are cheap rather than going into a bunch of stores hoping to find something inexpensive. Once upon a toy was awesome too!

In your situation with the kids having their "own" spending money, Mickey's Mart might not be such a bad choice. Even though most items are simply regularly priced items of $10 or less, they do have one section of a wall that is the "4 for $10" area. It is hit or miss but last time I was there the wall had ceramic mugs with characters on them, tiny hand-crank music boxes that play a surprisingly sweet version of "Beauty and the Beast," Lilo Halloween plushes and the cutie style of Mickey and Minnie small plushes. Other times I've seen Christmas ornaments, hair accessories, photo frames and scrapbook page kits. I think the most expensive regular price on the 4 for $10 wall was around $15.

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. I'll keep it on my list for DTD! :cool1: Glad to hear the good reviews.....

I was dissapointed in the under $10 store. I bought some craft kits in the 4 for $10 section, and then I found the same thing for less at the outlets.
