Hi Guys,
I thought this would be the best place to ask my question as i am sure someone can help me out here!!!!!!!.I know you can get the Mr Potato Head+My Little Pony box where you stuff everything inside for $20.BUT do they do anything like this or similar with Lego in the Lego shop at Downtown Disney? Dd3 wants to do the Mr Potato Head box,Dd7 loves Lego+i know she would love to do this if it's available. Thanks for your replies, much appreciated.x.

p.s.if i have posted this in the wrong place-sorry,please can you move it for me.x.

At the Lego store they have plastic containers (like what you'd get potato salad in from a deli) that you can fill with solid colored pieces. The walls have bins of colored pieces to choose from. I don't think it's all that great - no direction to build anything, but if you want a whole lot of one color, I guess it's a good option (of course, you can mix the colors in your tub, but I'd put the money towards one of the packaged sets they sell).

The lego store also has a place to build your own people. You get a small box that hold 3 people (I think it's 3 people for something like $15). Each person gets a head, body, legs, and one accessory. I might be wrong on some of those details. Hopefully, someone else can verify for you.

I was just there over the weekend and did see an area to get individual pieces. there were 2-3 different size cups to fill, but i am unsure of the price.

we were disappointed 'cause there are no special pieces. (I believe there were 2 sizes, both pretty small.) Anyway...everyone has enough bricks. There were some cool colors though. My son did do the 3 people thing... 'cause Grandma paid for it and his sister did BBB. (I believe the description above is correct.. they come on a little holder with a string that you can wear like a necklace.) He loved it, but it certainly wasn't a good value when you compare it to the potato head deal. (I did that one for myself.)

The back wall in the Lego store is hit or miss. Sometimes there's a bazillion 1x2 pieces. Sometimes there are specialty pieces. We've been there 6-8 times over the last two years and it's always different.

We've gotten boats, treasure chests, PINK legos, people accessories, car parts, flowers, spider webs, trees, shrubs, trash cans, roofing pieces. And 1x8, 2x8, 2x4 1x1, 2x3 bricks and everything inbetween. You never know! There's always some special pieces, but if you're looking for something particular you'll be disappointed. DD5 can always fill a bin.

If memory serves it's $10 for a small cup, $16-7 for a large one, and $99 for a huge tub.

They also have small Belleville sets that are $10 -

And if your DH is a bit, well, obsessed, he can take the better part of an hour to maximize the packing of the legos in the bin!

As for the lego people, be warned that there are never any girls! Not a ponytail to be found.

A must-do! And AP holders get 10% off!

I am not sure on the pricing, but I will second the variety of things you can find. But be careful. One year we got wheels, windshield, and wings to make an airplane - when we got back to the room, we realized we only had right side wings:lmao: . The really crazy part is when we went back, we found they were only selling right side wings.
However, my sons always love doing this and have a great toy to keep them busy back in the room.

Hey,thanks everyone for your replies.
Dd7 was hoping for pink lego so that sounds good. She was also hoping for girl figures, but there is'nt any :confused3 that's weird.$15 for 3 figures seems a bit expensive to me,but it's her money so it's up to her.She wants things like flowers, car parts, boats etc...I like the idea of filling up a large cup+i am sure Daddy will help her get lots in,he also has to help dd3 pack the Mr Potato Head box.x.

Astro Orbitor-what is a Belleville set?.x.

If you want help getting a lot in the box you should ask a CM. We did the my little pony in May and I naively was just putting parts in a box. A CM asked we we wanted help and my DD ended up with 2 pony's and 2 full sets of clothes, etc. It's amazing what they fit in the little box.

My DS5 loves to use his imagination to build things with legos. So the sets with directions really aren't for him, as they don't have enoughpieces to actually build other stuff with. So we love filling up the cups at DTD. In addition to the bricks of various sizes, we have also gotten trees, flowers/stems, wheels, spider webs, doors, windows...we even got some pieces that I have no clue what they are for, but he finds a way to use them!

When we can't make it to Disney one year, we get our fix for new pieces by driving about an hour and a half to a mall in Virginia that has a lego store. The selection isn't nearly as large, but we get some good parts there, too.
