How far are each of the DTD hotels from Downtown Disney? Can anyone provide a link to a good map of this area?

I would like to stay at a hotel that is easy walking distance from Downtown Disney, any reccomendations?

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Hi Greg, I saw no one had responded yet and wanted to get the ball rolling for you. One important thing would be what do you consider easy walking distance? A couple in their twenties or thirties might think one thing where a couple in their fifties or with many small children in tow may want to just go across the street. From what i have heard just about all the hotels in the immediate Downtown Disney area are pretty close and should fit the bill. Some provide bussing in the evening to Pleasure Island as well. I am sure you will find the one just right for you.:D

I've stayed at the hotel furthest from DTD (nearest to Crossroad's Plaza intersection) at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd. and did not find the walk to DTD to be too far. The walkway is winding, which results in walking further than necessary (shortest distance between two points is a straight line and all) but it's a smooth surface and the scenery is pleasant.

However, there is construction at the DTD end of this road and that gets pretty tricky and messy (even for drivers). So when you get to the end you'll want to be on the light controlled side of the crosswalk (as you face DTD you'll want to be on the right side of the road. Take care and you should be fine.

Grosvenor is quite close and Courtyard by Marriot, is pretty close too. Have fun!

last November. Had always stayed on site- but the $39 a nite price convinced us to take a last minute trip. Busses were provided, but crowded, so we found the 5 minute walk to Downtown Disney to be worth it. We grabbed a bus there. All of the DTD hotels are within walking distance.

Hi,
Just returned from a stay at the Grosvenor and that hotel along with the Hilton are definetly the closest to DD. They are 5 mi max ( includes waiting for the "walk" sign crossing the street). The DD bus stop is very close and you can utilize the transportation out of the parks going to DD and then get off and walk back to the hotel. We used the DD buses in the morning to go where we wanted, but used the Disney Buses to get back. On our E-night we did go to the arear for DD pick-up and we were the only 2 on the bus. It was great! Also want to add that the DD buses are very comfortable.

It took DH and I 12 minutes to walk from the Disney buses to the Courtyard by Marriott in DTD. We tended to use the DTD buses in the am and the Disney buses in the pm. Overall we found the DTD buses to be more reliable, following their schedule.
