DTD - Captain Jack's, Raglan Road, or Wolfgang Puck Express?

Hi, everyone!!

In the past, we have always gone to DTD on our last day right before we drive home, & we normally grab some sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich.

This year, we're planning things a little differently & hope to be able to actually spend some relaxing time in DTD - meaning, DH is not constantly looking at watch & thinking about the drive home! ;)

We will have the Dining Plan, so I need a restaurant that is on the Dining Plan. I thought about paying OOP for T-Rex & think our older kids would LOVE it! However, DH & I aren't sure our younger DS is quite ready for it. This past June, we visited EPCOT for the day & ate at Garden Grill - he was not thrilled w/ the characters at all! This year, we're hoping he'll be okay w/ the characters, but still worry T-Rex will just be too frightening.

So, anyway, of the following 3 DTD DP restaurants, which would you choose:

Captain Jack's
Raglan Road
*Wolfgang Puck Express

(*I realize Wolfgang Puck Express is a CS & not a TS, but the menu looks good!)

For reference, the other restaurants at which we'll mostly liking be eating are as follows: breakfasts - Chef Mickey's & Grand Floridian Cafe; lunches/dinners - Boma, Brown Derby, Cape May, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace, 'Ohana (or Kona Cafe), Tutto Italia, Whispering Canyon Cafe & Yak and Yeti.

So I'm thinking, since we're already doing Cape May & Coral Reef, maybe Captain Jack's would be a bit too much seafood - but I liked the ferry!

Which leads me to Raglan Road or Wolfgang Puck Express. I'm leaning toward Raglan Road but wondernig if our kids would like Raglan Road? Also, is there entertainment every night?

Thanks for the help!

We tried Raglan Road last year with 2 kids...we loved it! They had dancers and Irish folk singers as well as great food. It's worth the time if you have ever wondered what an Irish pub is like.

I've never eaten at Capt. Jacks but have done Raglan Road once and Wolfgang Puck express numerous times. I would recommend both of them, but I don't personally have any desire to return to Raglan Road (and I'm Irish!) but I have returned many times to Wolfgang Puck. I love the chinois chicken salad, bbq chicken pizza (they had a bbq chicken quesadilla once that was awesome, haven't seen it in awhile) and have tasted some of the other items that friends have ordered. Everything was always good. While Wolfgand Puck is considered counter service, it feels a bit like table service. You order, choose a table and they will bring your food to you, ask if you need anything, offer to get drink refills, etc. Just a tad nicer than your typical counter service restaurant.

Capn Jacks wasnt anything to write home about. I thought the sea food was sub par. Although I enjoyed the meal and setting (table right by the window overlooking the lake and DTD) it wasnt as good as I thought it would be. I have read many good things about Reglan though, we'll be stopping there for lunch this next go around.

Thanks!!

I think we're going to try Raglan Road.

However, right now, I'm planning it for a Sunday evening. There isn't any live entertainment on a Sunday is there? :sad1:

I agree I was not super impressed with Cap n Jacks. I have not tried either of the other two but this Sept we will being to WPE also because I have heard great things and the food porn thread has enlightened DH and I to several things we want to try!! My kids are easy going and the pizza will suit them. Good luck deciding and have a magical vaca!;)

We love Raglan Road and are going again this fall.
I believe that the band does not play on Sundays, but I think there is a single entertainer that night. Raglan Road has their own website, I think you can find info there.

Not sure if it has changed since my visit, but the entertainment was not all night long. It started at 8 or 9 so we missed all the fun stuff. Keep the timing of the singing/dancing in your mind when making your ADR :thumbsup2
