Going in July for the little ones bday...he will turn 6 on the 22nd..that will be our MGM (DHS) day...Not really looking forward to any of the TS there so thought we would make an ADR for Ohana*s and get a cake from there? Any other suggestions? *Next AM is rope drop for MK in our plans..so I would like an early night*

We have celebrated several birthdays in Disney with our sons. Our favorite places to celebrate is Chef Mickey's. We've never bought a cake. There are so many yummy desserts on the buffet that we didn't feel we needed a birthday cake too. They bring out a jumbo sized cupcake with a candle in it for the birthday child and give them a birthday card signed by the characters at the restaurant. If you let them know ahead of time when you make your reservations or when you are checking in for dinner, tell them you have a birthday and they will put streamers and confetti all over the table.

Another vote for Chef Mickey's. A 5 year old will love it more than Ohana.
