Got a 2 Euro piece in change from a cabdriver a year or so ago. Made about 50 cents on the deal...cabdriver clearly thought he had put one over on us, by giving us 'foreign' money in our change. What comes around...

That was my first though too. We put it in a picture frame to keep it protected and he is going to let the office know on Tuesday that he has it if anyone claims it.

You know, when my great-grandma died, one of the things she left me was the German-English dictionary she used in school (I took german in school, too, and spent time in Germany). It's pretty old so I didn't open it much so it wouldn't fall apart - anyway, about a year ago I opened it up and found a $2 bill in the pages. I've been using it as a bookmark since then. I just looked at it again and it's the same one your DS got - 1953 red seal $2 bill. It's in really good condition, too, probably because it's been pressed in the book for so long - no rips or creases. I'll have to make sure I hold onto it. Thanks for sharing!

In 1997, while on my honeymoon in San Diego, I was given one in change from a vendor at the San Diego zoo. I have been carrying it around in my wallet all this time... showed my kids it just last week and my son asked if it was real money.

my DD has several $2.00 bills, they were gifts to her from my beloved grandfather, who died in 2003. i don't think any of them are rare, though. how lucky for your DS! i'd let him pick my lottery numbers! lol

I have a ton of $2 bills. you can even go into some banks and ask for $2 bills. They are not that hard to find.

1953 Red Seal ones??? Sure the more modern ones are but look through your stash, are any from the early 50's?
