DS, who is 13 and extremely shy around girls, wants to know how to let "that certain girl" know he is interested in her.

Ask about the assignment is old... but it still works! Another great way is to simply walk up to her and talk (never been a problem for me). The best way, I believe, is to call her and ask to the movies... I went and saw fever pitch and it's a great date movie. It'd be even easier to be around girls if he goes with a group of friends (hers preferably).

He can sit with her at lunch, or as people have said ask for the assignment, or if he ask for help in a class or if you know she is having trouble in a class ask her if she would like help. Girls love it when a guy goes up and talks to her... no matter what anyone says. Or write a note Even if she`s not "into him", being friends is always a possible outcome ...and good luck!
