DS turns 8

Any ideas on how we can make my DS's birthday extra special? He turns 8 during the middle of our trip. I know about getting the button...but what about other special surprises? Cakes? We are having breakfast at Tusker House, do they do anything special?

Any ideas would be great!

We've celebrated my DS's birthday many times at Disney . Make sure you tell them ahead of time about the birthday. They usually bring a dessert (one place was a cupcake, another was an individual mickey cake) with a candle. At the Concourse Steak House they told him he had a phone call and it was Goofy wishing him a Happy Birthday. Also, if you are staying in Disney have it on the ressie that it's his birthday. They've brought him a card from Mickey with a balloon to our room. You can also order a birthday cake from the hotel bakery and pick it up at the food court (there is a thread on cakes) or you can call a party person that comes to your room and will decorate it (this can be expensive though).

If you are staying at a Disney Resort they give you a pin that says it is your birthday today and EVERYONE wishes you happy birthday. Bus drivers, park attendants hotel staff etc. It is pretty cool ... Most Disney employees go out of their way to make everyone's day special!
