We will be staying at HI DS and I like walking in the mornings. I know there is the bridge that connects to DS but I remember that DS is only open for entry later in the morning. Will I be able to cross this bridge and still walk -like to the SSR area? TIA!

You'll be able to cross the bridge. A few places open at 9a. Security must open earlier.

I don't know if you can bypass closed security and walk to a SSR bus stop. Some posters say yes. Easier to take the first HI bus or ride share.

Thanks! I’m just looking for walking, not park transportation

You should be able to skip the DS entrance and cross through to the SSR boats… the only part that would remain closed before 10am is the DS security checkpoint.

You can cross the bridges over to the Disney Springs area - the sidewalk that goes past the old bus stop and the security checkpoint is not restricted or closed - so if Disney Springs is still closed in the early morning, you can still walk over the bridge to Saratoga Springs and walk the grounds there. Saratoga is a very big resort and lots of walking paths, lakes, fountains, etc, so if you're just looking to walk around a pretty area, see lots of birds (there are always egrets, herons, limpkins, osprey, kingfishers, and even wild turkeys wandering around Saratoga), it's a very nice spot for a morning stroll. Artist's Palette opens at 7am so you can also grab coffee or breakfast there early if you want.
