DH is on his way with DS13 to ER. Looks like DS broke his wrist. Ahh what next! He is the "problem" child. So far he was born with a bowed tibia, had surgery due to the bowed tibia when he was 11 and was in an imobilizer for 8 weeks, broke his ankle and had his appendix out. Now it's his wrist. Do you have that "problem" child?

The poor kid, I hope it doesn't hurt. How did he break it?

Oh dear! Hugs to your dear son. It does seem that some children are accident prone, I know I was. Just ask my mother. :flower:

My son is super clutzy, but I am lucky that he has strong bones and tough skin.

Maybe you need to wrap your son up in nerf before he leaves the house?

Playing football with his friends.

Hope he's better soon (and hope the ER isn't too busy yet!)

I have one... DD has broken her arm , finger, tail bone, and Several strains and sprains... oh and knee problems..

To many sports I guess....She Plays on two softball teams, basketball and a Taekwondo (2nd degree black belt ) Oh I forgot works out 3Times a wek with a personal trainer at a local gym..

I hope your son feels better soon...

DS has managed to live nearly 18 years relatively unscathed. DD on the other hand has broken her collarbone, her arm, and is in physical therapy right now for a shoulder ailment that the doctor thinks may have resulted from a difficult labor......nearly 16 years ago. Poor Sarah.

I hope your DS is OK and that the wrist injury is not serious.

One one broken bone so far, DS13 broke both his ulna and radius when he was 8 (same time) other then that we have been pretty lucky.

I AM that prolbem child. I don't think ONE halloween has went by where I was sick, or had to take a trip to the ER. I can fall over a lady bug on the side walk. I've had 87 stitches(at once, mind you), my tonsils out, my adnoids out, my arm in a sling, twisted my ankle more times than I can count, had more trips to the ER more times than I can count, broken my toe (don't ask) and falled down and up more than one flight of stairs. I am the problem child.

OMG. My dd (7) is at the hospital now getting her wrist x-rayed. (DH took her and I'm at home with ds.) Doc says it looks broken also (soccer related injury). I hope your ds is okay.

I hope all the kids are and will be ok. My problem child is in texas with another problem. I wish I was with her.
Her sister is following in her accident prone footsteps.

DS is doing fine. He broke his wrist in 2 places. They reset them and put a temp. cast/splint on until he sees the orthopedist.

DD#1 had to go to the ER when she was 15 months for an ear infection that we couldn't control (we were out of town). She also had to go to the ER in the spring after falling on her rollerblades and landing on the edge of the neighbor's porch. Luckiily her tailbone was NOT broken, only badly bruised.
DD#2 had to go to the ER when she was 3--her sister accidentally scratched her cornea. She is 10 now and relatively low-maintenance (sound of me knocking on wood).
DS takes the prize--he had tubes put in his ears at 14 months, glasses since age 2, eye surgery at 4, ER at 5 for a leg injury (not broken, but he wouldn't straighten it out for 10 days) and ER at 7 for stitches in his knee--both of the last two from trampolines (no, not ours, we don't have one so let's not start that again). He has also had his eye patched periodically. He is 7 now.

My youngest is a real clutz! By the time she was 4....she had stitches in her head 4 times...and broke her pinky. And at age 6 one of her earrings (pierced) got stuck in her lobe...it was really gross!....She actually got to the point where she would tell the ER people that the papoose thing wasn't tight enough and weird thing...she never flinched at the novacaine shot things either. I really don't think she feels pain. With her broken pinky....I didn't even know it for over a week!! They actually had to "rebreak" it to set it right!!

My oldest son has had seven surgeries but they have all been related to basketball injuries.
