My 22 mos old is 30+lb and 35-36in. He will out grow his current carseat by weight in about 1 year I am guessing. We are looking to get him a Britax, maybe the Husky, Wizard, Boulevard or Marathon. If any knows where I can go to get one, at the best deal please let me know. I know I don't post here often but I have 2 kids and it is hard to balance things.

He could go in booster seat at 40lb but I feel he probably won't be ready for it.
Thanks,
Carrie

There were great deals up until last week, when Britax imposed a rule of no discounts on their products. Last time they did this, it only lasted a couple of months, so I'd suggesting waiting a while longer, especially since you have another 10lbs before he outgrows his current seat.

I have two Marathons seats, one for DD who is almost 2, she's 35 lbs, 27 inches tall and one for DD who is 11 months who is 28 lbs and 30 inches tall--so they are big kids. I LOVE them. I got both of mine from http://www.babycatalog.com/cgi-bin/WebStore/indexNZ.cgi/return_to_frontpage=Return to Frontpage

Right now they have the older patterns on closeout for 214. I had gotten mine for 199, so it's not that bad of a price increase. Also, they have free shipping and there is no tax charged so you end up saving quite a bit compared to babies r us prices. They also have one of the widest selection of patterns!

I got my Britax Roundabout with a coupon. It was a homemailer Babys-R-Us 20% off coupon. The retail was $200 so I got it for $160. That really sucks that they aren't allowing discounts right now.

I would not buy a used carseat. You have no idea if it has been in a wreck and possibly not safe.

I just bought a Marathon online last week from this site:

http://www.specialtybaby.com/

There was no sales tax and no delivery charge. We paid $199 and it came in 5 days. I am actually going to order another one for my husbands car at this price. These are without a doubt the best seats out there.

Hope this helps.

I just saw the post where britax is not allowing discuonts - I am po'd! Mine is back up at $249, guess we will wait to get a 2nd seat!!!

This may be not your cup of tea, but I am looking at getting my second Britax at Kid to Kid - a hand-me-down national chain store. They certify the used seats. I was just oggling one for $79.

Thanks for all the advice. I would never get a used car seat. It is one thing to share it in the family but another to buy one from someone you don't know.

As a car seat tech, I can tell you we wouldn't recommend a used seat. You never know if it has been in a crash or anything.

On a side note, if you don't think you'll need the seat for at least a year, I'd wait and see how quickly your baby grows.
