DS Ipod cameras

Has anyone had touble lately taken them on board a flight or not been able to use them any info would be great.

Also could you use any of them still.

I've head that you may have your hand luggage taken off you and not get it back until you land!

I have a little girl just want to get ready in case she can't use her ds. 9 hours is a long time.
