We were told that his class had the possibility of some swimming lessons after Easter. We had wondered when they would start and last night DS brought home a letter saying that they got permission to use our local sports centre. So this morning his class are off for their lesson after assembly.
So fingers crossed it goes well. We've been taking him to the sports centre on Saturdays since mid January, he's been having a half hour lesson in a group of 6 with the instructor. He should be fairly confident today but he's asked to take his goggles because he hates water splashing in his face.

I bet they don't get long in the water...my two when they went with the class took so long to get changed they had about 10 minutes to swim :rotfl2:

Hope he enjoys his swimming lesson:goodvibes

aww cute..... hope he has a good lesson..

as natalie says... they have about 10 minutes in the pool :)

My DS has to wear a rather fetching cap too :) (and get it on himself!)

Hope he enjoys himself :)

I'll find out about 4 p.m. how it went, I'm hopeful that he'll swim 5 metres on his own (no arm bands) or at least 3/4 of the width of the pool. They will be in the training pool, I think, which is smaller than the main pool and the water slides will be out of bounds. At least he doesn't need a swim cap:lmao: :lmao:
The girls in his class were not too happy at the thought of wearing swim caps today they were moaning about them on the way to school this morning:lmao: :lmao: It's weird but the same sports centre lets the girls and long haired boys swim without caps at the weekend, they only seem to enforce the issue for swim meets and swim marathons:confused3

He seemed to enjoy the experience but it's not the same when you have 2 groups of 15 in the pool when you're used to 3 groups of 6 max. He used floats and swam on his back ok but needs to try harder on his front;) His instructor wasn't the one he has on Saturdays (Sarah) which is fine with us but I think DS was expecting to see her there. I think his class go for 5 weeks ..then the other year 3 class go the following few weeks.
