DS has a new talent.......

...... juggling machettes!

Yes, my 10 yr DS is juggling real (but not sharp) knives in our circus. He started juggling balls and rings last year and has moved up to clubs. He throws them under his leg, behind his back, and all over the house!!!

When we were at WDW last year, he even juggled with the "TrainedHumanClub" at MGM. One of the guys was the opening act for the Hunchback show. He was amazed at DS's skills and they did an impromtu routine in front of the RnR. DS is taking his juggling clubs to MGM for our summer vacation, hoping to see these guys again.

Once I get used to seeing my DS juggling and tossing knives, he will probable be ready tomove up to the last step........ fire clubs.

Yes, real fire.......

I have always admired those that are coordinated enough to juggle. Sending some antacids your way.

He also does a low trapeze act (about 7 feet off the ground), some trampoline acrobatics, and "rolla bolla". Rolla bolla is a balancing act. You have a 6" diameter piece of PVC pipe (so that the pipe rolls, not standing on end), put a board on the the pipe, stand on the board and do tricks. DS juggles and does a 180 degree jump & turn.

The most experienced kids do flying trapeze, 7-person pyramid on the high wire, and other things. We have German wheels (like Cirque) and lots of other acts.

National Geographic did a nice article about the Circus in the July issue.

Still not sure I'm ready for him to juggle fire.........

Well, he is definetely talented. He must have amazing concentration! (We've talked about him, and I 'm sure that is correct!)

Really, its a great talent to have. He can use this later, for a side job in college or high school.

(And I bet no one will mess with him in higher grades once they know he can use machetes!)
