Dry skin?

I have TERRIBLY dry skin. I mean I literally have white flakes all on the inside of my clothes and on my skin. Gross.

Anyone have any suggestions?
The Lubriderm dry skin lotion I use just seems to make it worse.

I have dry skin in the itchy sense.
I use really hot water in the shower and it dries my skin out.
And I scratch it.
Which makes me bleed.
This winter was so bad, seriously, I have scars on my leg from scratching so much.

I use St.Ives with Vitamin D, and it works well, but if I don't use it daily it doesn't help.

Use warm water when you shower, not hot, and make them shorter.
When you go to bed, cover your feet with lotion, then wear cotton socks over them over night.
Nivea makes amazing lotion, and moisturize every day.
If you can, cary hand cream aroudn with you for your hands.
If you still can't get rid of your dry skin, you could go to your doctor and see if they know a lotion or somethign to help you.
Bananas with milk or cocoa butter are both really good.
Another good lotion are ones by Aveno and Burts Bees.

I just started taking this medicine that's making my skin really dry, too.
And it makes my lips so dry that they peel. It's so gross.

But yeah, I try to drink a lot of water and use a lot of lotion, especially right after I get out of the shower.

CeraVe lotion works great for me.

Edit: Oh, I thought you meant face lotion. CeraVe wouldn't be very good body lotion. Curel is pretty good, and Gold Bond is good for hands. Both aren't greasy and gross. But I don't get super dry skin, only on my face.
