Hi everyone

We will be driving to PC from WDW and returning a rental car to Enterprise/Alamo. Having never done this before I had a couple of questions I was hoping you could help with :goodvibes

My questions are:

1. How early are porters available to drop bags curb side?

2. Can we drop our bags and then both head off to return the car or does one of us have to stay behind once we have dropped bags (I know that one of us can check the other in but we would prefer to return the car together)

We are hoping we can drop the bags bright and early so that we can still get back to the port at a reasonable time (hoping for an early PAT)

Thanks!

We have always dropped off everyone and everything in the car, and then one person in each car dropped it off. Both times there was no offer to store our bags for us. In fact last time we had to stand in the parking garage until the terminal opened (we were quite early and people did NOT want to get off of the ship).

Porters will be helping debarking guests first, obviously, so with the official port opening time as 10:30, I would not get there too much earlier than that.

You drop off the bags with a porter and then one or two people can go return the rental while the others check in. make sure the driver and other person (if there is one) have their government issued photo id to get back into the terminal.

1. Porters are available after helping off those retuning on the the previous cruise. So don't palm on being there to early

2. Yes assuming the porters are there you can drop your bags and then both take off, checkin for a cruise is not like a flight where you have your bags at the counter until you are done checking in, you leave your bags with the porter and then enter the terminal building to begin the checkin process, next time you see your bags will be in your stateroom.

That being said returning your car will not be a long process that will take a long time getting back to the ship for most rental agencies, especially if you already offloaded your luggage, now the advantages of that are minimized if you are sending more than one person to return the car, the reason it saves time is bc it's easier to board one person with no bags on a shuttle......I would recommend sending just one person back, that way you won't have any carryon luggage with you. Otherwise why not just return the car first so your party stays together, the shuttle will drop you all off in front with the porters (same exact place)

All of that being said regardless of when you arrive at the port, your PAT will be assigned during online checkin, and arriving early won't change when you actually get to get on board all that much sooner unless you are after 1pm when it's basically walk on times.... Your boarding group that you receive will be tied to your pat time.... You will just end up sitting in the terminal for a long time.....

Thanks for the answers everyone
We will have very little carry on so I think this will be our plan
1. Arrive at the port around 10:30am and drop our luggage with the porters curb side
2. Both drive back to the car rental return depot
3. Hop on a shuttle back to the port and check in!
:)

Does Alamo have a free shuttle to the port? I know Budget and Hertz does but Alamo is further away. I was looking at a car rental from Alamo as well because it was cheaper than the others but was leaning more towards the others because of the shuttle. I figured what I was saving on the car rental I would have to pay in a taxi fare. If Alamo does have a shuttle I'm going to book with them.
