Hello! Could someone please let me know the best place for my husband to drop me (and my scooter) off for the MK? I am again accompanying him for a work trip and will be out and about by myself. He will drop me off & get me with our rental car, and will assemble/disassemble it. I have always taken the buses or monorail. Do I have to go thru the TTC if I don't need to park?

Thanks a bunch!!!

I don't know the answer for MK (I've seen the drop offs for the other parks, but we never drive to MK). I think the dropoff is probably at the TTC though since that is where you would pcik up taxis, outside buses, etc.
Bumping this up in case someone else knows.

To drop you off at TTC or any of the monorail hotels he will have to go through the toll plaza. What I would suggest is have him drive you to the Contemporary and either drop you off at the main door; then you go in and take the monorail.

A better idea would be for him to take you to the Contemporary, make the very first left turn after going past the Contemporary Guard House, and letting you off there. That will put you right at the walkway between the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom, practically at the MK Bus Terminal.

The only thing I cannot think of is how to avoid taying the toll to drop you off. Note that if he keeps the parking pass they give him with the car, when he comes back to pick you up later in the day there will be no subsequent charge. Of course, if you are staing in a Disney Resort or have an Annual Pass parking is included.

Cupcake, I know your situation has changed, but I'm giving you my two cents for the future.

To be honest, if you want your hubby to drop you off at any of the monorail hotels, you can reach them without going thru the toll plaza. For example, I stayed at Riverside a couple of weeks ago, and we had ressies at Whispering Canyon in the WL. If you turn right coming out of POR, the road dead ends at a "T" and if you turn left, it takes you past a couple of the golf courses, and Ft. Wilderness campground. It eventually brings you out to the main road to get to the Contemporary. (it brings you out at that funky intersection that is just beyond the toll plaza, on the far right, where the busses go).

When I have rented a car from national, I have been picked up at the Kennel Club at the TTC. You can get there as I described above (either by taking "back roads" or by going thru the toll plaza and staying to the far right). At the first light, turn left. Voila, you are there! There is probably a designated drop off section here, I just never noticed it.

Yes, going in on the entrance near Fort Wilderness there is no tolol booth but there is a gate guears. My understanding is since it is a method to bypass the toll plaza, they require either a resort or employee ID (or annual pass) to use that entrance. It does end up a World Drive just inside the toll plaza.
