Drop on Pirates vs. Drop on Splash Mountain

In the sense that a 'drop' is a movement from one height to another, then yeah i suppose you can call the slide on pirates a 'drop.' My 4-yr-old nephew was more thrilled by the air-pop cannonball effects than the 'drop.'

I believe it could be about fifty feet long too, like earlier posters have said it's about the angle.

Like if you take a pencil laying flat on the table, if you raise the eraser end an inch or so off the table while the pointed end still touches, then you're looking at the track for the pirates drop. Take the same pencil, leave the pointy end on the table and raise the eraser end to make a 45-degree angle - now you're looking at the drop from splash mountain. Same length, much different experience. :thumbsup2

Wow, the drop on Pirates is almost nothing at all. The drop on Splash is considerable. I can't imagine that anyone (who had been on both) would even compare the two.

lol OK I feel embarressed because I have done both and hate both! I wouldn't however say they are the same length. The drop feels that way to me because I get worked up before I do it.

I wouldn't even qualify that little bump in Pirates a drop.

It's barely noticeable.
