Hi all.

Booking today to take the kids back to DLP for the 3rd time in less than 2 years. (We/they love it there)

The times before we have used the Eurostar, but to be honest we weren't a big fan of that, so this time we've decided to drive down to Folkestone, onto the Eurotunnel and then drive on to DLP.

As this is my first time driving, well anywhere abroad, I wondered if anyone else has tried this and has any useful tips.

Thanks

I know that feeling. Just can not keep away:laughing:

We have driven over to France lots of times. It is fine. Last time we went I purchased a new satnav-Garmin one, with Europe on it and it was fantastic. Made the trip very relaxing, took us straight to hotel.

In the past I has found some of the major roads a bit stressfull getting in the correct lane but satnav gave clear instructions. Need to update it before next trip.
my tips:
Have some euros for any toll roads.
DVD player for kids in the back.
Drinks for kids.
There is a thread on here I am sure about driving in France. Take your time and enjoy the journey. :goodvibes

Driving is really very easy so you shouldn't have any problems. :goodvibes The tolls cost about E21 each way. :goodvibes

As others have said the drive is straightforward. I always drive now as its easy plus can get better crossing times compared to flying & Eurostar.

Make you look up online what you need to have to drive in France i.e. spare bulbs etc & as from July you need to have a breathaliser in the car too.
