We plan on taking I-75. Want to stop for the night around Macon or Valdosta (or in between those 2). We will have 2 toddlers with us and just want a hotel/motel that is safe, clean and isn't super expensive. Any input will be appreciated!
Also, any great places to stop for food? Thanks, again!

We just made that drive from the Bloomington area last summer and again at Xmas. Our little ones are 8 & 10 now so I was able to drive straight through both times. This upcoming summer, however, we may need to stop and we've often discussed stopping in Macon or Valdosta. Best of luck to you on your trip.

Thank you! The same to you.

Honestly didn't really feel safe in Macon-this was maybe 10 years ago. We stayed further south the next time(Perry?) and it was perfect.

bucees in richmond KY for food and cheap fuel

And now a Warner Robbins, GA Buc-ees on I-75 south of Macon and just north of Perry, GA. AND a planned one for Ocala Florida!

When you hit Macon, make sure you take the bypass around the city (I-475). That is actually a quicker route than if you stay on I-75. There are a number of hotels off at Exit 3 off of I-475.

That said, I'd probably go a little farther than Macon the first day. You're still a good 4/12 to five hours away. Someone mentioned Perry. That's a good place to stop. Tifton is also good too.

I was looking at Tifton! Do you think it is safer/better than Valdosta?
