My phone shows 3 options, please help me decide:

12 hours 15 minutes...getting on I-75S in Georgia
11 hours 15 minutes...taking 26E and I-95S
11 hours 30 minutes..taking 26E, I-95 & FL 19S

YEARS ago we drove through Georgia, and I think we did it in 11 hours. But we were much younger ;) and didn't have kids w/us.

This time we'll have 2 DS's w/us, & one is a yucky car rider (gets car sick so we'll have to give him some Dramamine for the ride).

Anyway, any comments about either route?? We'll probably set cruise control on 80, and pack lunch.

We'd like to do it in one day, plan on leaving about 4am and hopefully be checked in by 5pm at the latest.

What part of Tennessee, exactly?

From your descriptions, sounds like extreme eastern Tennessee...maybe Bristol or Kingsport?

I think I'd go with the quickest route. For obvious reasons, it's quicker. You'll miss the Atlanta traffic (although with the 95 route, you'll hit Jacksonville...not as bad, but still...). Plus there is a thread about how Georgia police are ticketing those who go slightly over the speed limit. I doubt you'll go nearly 400 miles in Georgia doing 80.

I think you can make it in 13 hours easily. We once drove from Ft Lauderdale to Grainger County, TN (my in-laws), and it took us about 14 hours. And that's averaging 65-70 MPH with stops. That was taking 95 to 26 to 40

We did 26E to I-95S the one time we drove from Johnson City, TN. It took us less then 11 hours. Closer to 10 actually.

I live near Knoxville and I usually average 10 to 11 hours depending on where I am ending up in Florida. I used to live in Titusville which is 45 minutes away from the mouse. I like using the direct routes since there will be plenty of places to stop if needed.

Like a PP said, 10-11 from Knoxville without traffic delays is legitimate, it takes 13-14 from the Lexington, KY area, 2 1/2 hours north of Knoxville. This is taking I75 straight to the Fl Turnpike.

I keep the cruise around 75 and feel like I am in a parking lot with everyone passing me.
