Driving to Disney from the UK

Driving works out cheaper for us - even with two cars going in May :-) The youngest kids have been flying, Eurostaring and driving (!) since day dot, and the eldest one has been doing it since he was four. Living where we do (right by Eurostar) we choose to drive. We can take everything we need with us, and its far less complicated than getting everyone on a train etc in my opinion - even though the station is next door :-)

Thanks to everyone for their replies, you have convinced us to take the plunge and we are going to drive! By driving we may extend our stay so instead of Mon - Thurs, we are going to go Sunday - Thursday.

Next thing, do I book the eurotunnel now? Works out at about £90 return, also what about DLP - should I book that now or wait for an offer?

:scratchin

The tunnel will get dearer the closer you get to travelling so I would book as soon as you can

Yes, as Nikki above says, book asap for the best price :-)

I love the flexability of the tunnel - last time we arrived 45 minutes early so they let us on the earlier train. We booked just a few days before and it only cost £45 - it's a risk but last minute tickets can be extremely cheap.

Good evening all,

Another south Wales girl here :D
We drive to Disney too But we take our motorhome.
We usually drive down to dover the day before park for free in Marine Parade over night before catching an early (6am) ferry over and then drive to Disney, Usually there by Lunch time if you go the motorway (remember tolls money 32E i think we paid at christmas 1 way)
If you go the non toll roads its a very long drive but its free, can be very slow though as you have to drive slowly through villages so motorways are much easier and quicker but you do have to pay.

We then stay in the Disneyland carpark in the motorhome part of the car park for our stay :) We have free parking with our AP.
Theres no electric hook up but they do have toilet block, showers, water and waste facilities :)

We love it we went 4 times last year! lol
