Driving to different theme parks

This might be a dumb question but since it's our first time going I'm trying to get all the info I can ahead of time.

If we plan on going to MK one day, Epcot (maybe) one day and AK another do you drive to the different parks and park in their own parking lots or just drive to MK and catch shuttles / monitorails etc? We're not staying on site but at Cypres Harbour and we have a big double stroller we're taking with us but have 3 small kids (4.5, 2.5 and 1.5 ages).

When hitting one park per day from the 'outside', drive to that park and be done with it.

I HIGHLY recommend driving if you have a car (to Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom). MK, not so much, as you have to take the ferry or tram.

It was so easy to drive, park, and no waiting for bus transportation.

I agree with driving to each park. The Disney busses can chew up a lot of your time, plus it can be very crowded, especially at park closing.

Since you are staying offsite, just drive to the parks and be done. If you are park hopping on that day, then you would drive to your first park, hop on Disney transporation to move to another park and then come back on Disney transportation to get your car...or move your car to the other park. Hope this helps.

Clearly, eveyone's opinions differ. With a double stroller, and wanting to park hop efficiently. I would drive to each park rather than try to take the bus. Getting between the parks can be challenging, particularly in dealing with toddlers and large strollers.

If you do drive, remember to keep your receipt for parking as you would only need to pay for parking once per day.

I find it best to drive to the AM park, tour it, drive back to the hotel for a nap/rest, then drive to the PM park and tour it.

We do it in sets. Hopping between MK and Epcot is easy on park transport, as is hopping between Epcot and MGM. Basically, our philosophy is that if you can do it by monorail or boat, yes, but if it requires a bus, no.

One thing to note if you use park transport to hop: always leave your car in the lot of the last park you will be visiting, not the first one. If the first park you go to closes earlier, you will encounter difficulty in getting back to your car if the normal transit to that parking lot has shut down for the night. (No one gets stranded at WDW, but getting access to closed parking lots is rather a hassle.)
