Hey everyone! This is my first time here, and I want to let you all know how much VALUABLE information I've garnered for my very first trip to WDW! This is a tremendous forum!

Here's a question for you experts... we're going to the World in May, staying offsite (booked a pre-paid deal before I knew about the GREAT savings on Dis resorts), but one day I'm going to drive to the Contemporary to visit with an old friend of mine who happens to be going with their family. My question is this... since I'm not a resort guest, would I have to pay the $7 parking charge to get to the Contemporary at the MK "tollbooth"? Or if I say that I'm just going to the Contemporary, do I get a free pass-through? And I've seen elsewhere that I can "visit" for something like 2 or 3 hours, right?

TIA for your help! :D

I've gone to the Contemporary for drinks on one or two occasions when I wasn't staying on site, and haven't had to pay any parking fee to get there. It's been a while, but I doubt they'll give you any problems.

Someone may correct me, but I think that the road to the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge breaks away from the MK road either right before or right after the toll booth.

You shouldn't have a problem getting through the toll booths. Just tell them you are visiting the Contemporary. We've stayed there before and stayed at other resorts and visited the Contemporary. The only thing I would say is that the guard at the Contemporary parking lot will probably want to verify that you are meeting someone there (name and room #) and they will usually only issue a guest parking pass of 2 hours. This is because a lot of people go into the Contemporary lot to take the Monorail (or walk) to MK even though they aren't staying at the hotel. They've really been cracking down on that the past several years. Have a great trip and a great visit!!

They may make you pay the fee at the gate. But if they do go with your friend who is staying there to the CR front desk and they will refund the money for you. If you are eating there and bring down your receipt the fd will also refund your parking fee.
