the construction right now does sometimes make driving here unbearable.
But if you are coming I15N just stay to the left lane/express lanes and it will only take you like 15 from the I-215/I-15 interchange to the Craig Rd exit, which is basically the last exit from the vegas area.
if you were to exit the I-215 west to go all the way around it would take you about 60min(40ish if you were to cut across summerlin parkway, but that has a bit of construction so it can vary) to get around and there is nearly zero traffic anytime to that craig/i-15 area
if you were to exit i-215 east and go to 95n/93n/i515 (all the same basic highway, just referenced by only one name sometimes) and then connect back to i-15 about 5-6mins south of the craig/i-15 area would be about 40 min with nearly zero traffic as well
basically, there is no benefit in going around the las vegas strip area unless there is a bad accident. there are highway traffic signs both north and southbound and if they indicate more than double the typical 15 min southbound to i-215 or 15 min northbound to craig rd, than it may be beneficial to detour.
But if you are coming from the 95N highway and it tells you to go i-215 west to the I-15 North , then that is a waste of time. just stay on 95n and connect to i-15
