W've been hit by a winter storm that has affected all of our interstates. Prior to leaving home, you may want to check with NC Highway Patrol or the Dept. of Transportation to check weather conditions on your projected route. Good news is that tomorrow is supposed to be warm so the roads will clear easily tomorrow, but today, travel is very hard!!

oh good...I've been looking for a NC resident to ask.

We'll probably be around Charlotte around midnight...maybe earlier tonight....on our way to FLA (would that be rt. 76?)...anyway.....we're going to be in trouble...aren't we?

grrrrrrrrr............

Charlotte got slammed by the storm: 12-18 inches of snow in parts. They showed I-77 on the weather channel, and it looked horrible>. We've had continuing snow off and on. But, the temps are above freezing and expected to rise--tomorrow in the 50s. Be very careful!! I-77 has seen lots of snow, but they are used to it so snow removal is usually quick in the northern part of I-77. Good luck and have a great trip.

Edited to reflect I went online to apps.dot.state.nc.us: apparently Dept. of Transportation had been working hard. The report is that interstates are clear, just try not to have to exit onto side roads. You should be OK!! Have a wonderful trip!
