We are driving down from Alabama and looking for a hotel to stop at in the middle of the night right before we get into Orlando. Any suggestions? Nothing fancy just clean. TIA

I suggest Holiday Inn, they are pretty middle of the road. About where are you wanting to stop, there is one, in Lake City, Gainesville ( make sure its not the one near the college) and in Ocala. right off 75. Check Hotels.com for a good rate.

or another suggestion is you could drive all the way to Orlando and stay at a hotel at DTD ( Hilton or Holiday Inn),you could sleep in, head over to Publix, or Wal-Mart for supplies for your stay, check in and let the magic begin. pixiedust:

(we like publix)
also like to get up and head over to dtd to earl of sandwich at 8am. eat breakfast and go for a walk. nobody around, well, I guess now a lot of construction workers but normally nobody around.

How many hours is your drive?

Our drive is 17 hours average. We drive through the night. We leave 6 pm and get to orlando 11-12 the next morning.

How close to Orlando do you want to stay. Lake City is still 2 1/2 hours from Orlando. Gainesville is 2 hours, Ocala is a little over an hour and Wildwood is a little under an hour.

We are about 6 hrs from Orlando w no stops but you know how that is lol. I'm surprising my youngest and my niece with this trip so we are leaving in the evening to go to the "beach" husband works nights and he will need to rest somewhere along the way. It will be night the kids will sleep hopefully I don't care when they figure it out but I want to keep from telling them as long as possible lol if we get a hotel they will assume we are at the beach and we can get a few hours sleep before heading to AoA and then MK for the day ... They will wake up and wonder where the ocean is... Bahahahaha.....Thank u for suggestions I am thinking DTD might be good :)
