Driving someone's else car on trip to the USA??

We are using my Mom's vehicle on our next trip to the USA..she will not be travelling with us. Is there anything I need to know/do when taking someone else's vehicle into the US? I will have the registration of couse..but anything else??

my inlaws borrowed our minivan to drive to Myrtle Beach a few years ago & it wasn't a problem. Have your mom call her insurance company to make sure they cover other drivers if the car is loaned out. We are with State Farm & it wasn't a problem as long as we had given permission for them to drive our car.

I would be inclined to have mom write a letter of consent. Most likely it would not be needed but I like to cover my bases that way.
