hi,
bit of an unusual one, maybe?

booked for first two weeks august, unfortunately DH had car accident a couple of months ago, and has now been charged with Driving with undue care & attention (its a long story)

well anyway, he is due in court the week before we go. you have to send in your driving licence etc. to the courts beforehand, so they can send if off i guess if you are going to get points on your licence.

However, i know he needs it to rent car - i am not the named driver.

We have booked with TCD. Is it worth adding me as a another driver here before we go, or can you change it when you get there?

if anyone knows i'd appreciate your advice

thanks

Don't worry too much, I'm pretty sure you can upgrade/change drivers when you arrive in Orlando. Just remember to take your licence.

I think that you will find that it is without due care and attention.

If he is found guilty, he can request (and explain why) that the court completes his licence by hand and not send it off to DVLA. The points etc will be handwritten onto the paper part of his licence. Theymay accede.

Of course, if he were to 'lose' his licence before he went and apply for a replacement, this could be presented to the court for points etc, leaving him with his old licence to take to Florida.

It is, however, not exactly legal.

BTW, if he is found guilty in court a week before you go, what is he doing about a visa?

Oh dear :confused3

I think I'd, personally, just travel on the green waiver form given the timing.
