Driving permit

Not really sure where to post this. Can anyone help. I have a british passport but now live in Austria ( not australia as google keeps trying to tell me!) My uk driving license has just ran out and i have had to apply for an austrian one (EU picture type but written in german) Will i need an International driving permit? I am concerned about problems as i will have a uk passport , austrian license and austrian credit card!

Also i have not booked the car rental because of this as i am not sure which companies i can use, the ones intended for uk customers seem to have great deals on 2 week rentals, but not sure if i am allowed to use these as when you look at terms and conditions ie on netflights is specifically asks for uk license!

I encountered a similar situation some years ago, had no problems. I have a German PP, but never had a German Driver's License. I do have licenses from various countries.
But recently, just to be safe, I got an International Drivers License.
