[Going to Orlando April 2006, I have a car included in my holiday package, however do I need to get a new photo licence, or is the old paper one still acceptable?

Can anyone help :earsboy:

THe old one is fine, However a lot of people find the photo card usefull for ID- In Orlando be prepared to be asked for Id all the time- it happens when you least expect it sometimes- like when i spent $5 on jelly belly on my creditcard :Pinkbounc

If you get a photocard saves carrying around your passport, But the paper one is fine for Car hire

Your old paper one is fine,I've never had any problems & I've read on other posts that "they" don't ask for the photo one. Just to give you something to think about it may be worth comparing your "free" car with insurance to an all inclusive package bought before you go i.e. holiday autos. We've always found that option cheaper as the tour operator tends to make up the "free" car difference in the insurance!

I never drive while on holiday but I always take my photo driving licence with me to use as ID - I'd rather lose that than my passport! ;)

I agree - I have never had any problems with my old license and have used it every year.

Take your paper licence - trust me, it confuses their police if you get stopped!!!

By the way, welcome to Disboards.
