Driving from SB to Anaheim

If we are driving from Santa Barbara to Anaheim late afternoon or evening, what are the best times to leave or routes to try to minimize traffic?

There is really only one route; 101 to 5. Sure, you could play around with longer routes an (maybe) avoid some bumper-to-bumper the time time frame will be longer. One I have not tried in over 10 years is 101>134>210>57. I never made better time, but sometimes you're running against the heavy traffic flow so if that's a goal you may consider it.

The later you leave SB the better. Or the earlier. Realistically anytime between 10AM and 8PM you're going to hit traffic. Leave before 7AM or after 9PM and traffic will be lighter.
