Driving from Pittsburgh?

For our first trip in 2001, we drove straight through as far as Ormond Beach. I believe we left about 11:30 p.m. and arrived in Ormond Beach around 7:00- 7:30 the next evening. We left from Kittanning, so it would be 45-60 minutes less from Pittsburgh, but then you have to add about 75 minutes from Ormond Beach to Disney. So it probably would have taken us about 20 1/2 hours to get to Disney from Pittsburgh, which included stops for three meals, gas, and bathroom breaks. I can't really say how long it took us the last time because we divided it into two days. This time is based on the "western" route - taking 79 to 19 in West Virginia and 19 to 77, etc. From talking with people who have taken the "eastern" route - the turnpike and 95 - you can expect to add anywhere from 3-5 hours to that. :sad2: Hope this helps.

We live close to Youngstown Ohio and have driven to WDW many times in the past, on I-77 from our house, non stop except for gas its 19 hours, last trip by car we took the I-75 route and it took us 21 hours. We lately have been taking Amtrak to Kissimmee the drive has gotten to hectic now for us, we're now over 50 and the hassle of all the traffic the whole way is just too tiring, espically going home after a relaxing vacation at WDW and the by-passes around the big cities aren't a bargain either. Never have I seen so many cars, trucks and what not for the whole drive, its like bumper to bumper the whole 1100 miles, not like 30 years ago, when you seen just a few cars early morning or late night. Enjoy your trip and go slow and arrive safe.
