Hi All. We are taking our first family trip to disney in september and unless we get a last minute deal on airfare for 7 looks like we'll be braving the roads! I have gone on mapquest for a route but I was wondering if anyone had any route suggestions? We've never traveled this far before and plan on leaving at 7:00pm on a friday so the kids can snooze through our first part and then we will stop sat night about 6 hours north of disney in some towm with a marriott residence inn to rest up before the last short leg of the trip. If anuone has driven fron this area i would love advice on the best routes! thanks so much!!!!

If you have AAA you can get a triptik (I think that's what it is called). It gives you great routes and it tells you the miles, and the time you need. I believe its free at AAA. We are from NH too...check out http://www.allegiantair.com/
for air as well..we are using them to fly in 45 days!

WHHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO ROAD TRIPPPPPPPP! I love road trips. I have driven to wdw many times, with anywhere between 1-6 kids. (depending on the time of year and where the kids are in school). I have never used mapquest for a disney trip I really don't like to use them. I always go with AAA. Worth the price of the annual fee. Call them, give the when your going, what type of vehicle your using, etc. The maps they give you will have gas, food and lodging marked on each leg of the journey. We have always just driven straight down 95 the time your planning on leaving you will miss major traffic, so going straight 95 should not be a problem. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.
Where in NH are ya? I love NH used to live outside of Concord, I really miss the mountains. :cheer2:

I don't have any info on driving ~ I know you said in your OP that you would drive unless a sale came along. I just wanted to let you know that Southwest is having a sale right now and you can fly out of Manchester to Orlando for $59 each way.

Everyone thanks so much for all the great advice with the driving route but I did happen to hop on southwest this morning and grab that great flight! Hubby is quite happy to not have the road trip. maybe another time! All I can think is 7 round trip airfares $949 on mastercard.........not hearing 3 separate choruses of "Are we there yet?" for 21 hours straight...PRICELESS!!!!!!!

:rotfl: Way to go!

Our family of 4 is also visiting taking our first trip to WDW in September (16-23 staying at AKL). I bought my airfare about a month ago for $782, today I noticed it is at $542 so I rebooked the same exact flight information. My reservations showed a travel credit of $240, however I called the 214 customer service # and spoke with this really nice person who said she would credit my cc!

How great to save money and have only a three hour direct flight to FL, gotta love SW!

BTW, I noticed several NH folks on this board. I am a few minutes from Concord.

 Faith
