It doesnt appear to be a bad drive. Did you stop at halfway or just drive non stop there?
Only one driver in this party.
Advice, please.

We have very good friends that do the drive from NOLA to WDW regularly (since 1991 at least) and they drive most of the way there the first day. NOLA to Ocala is about an 8 hour drive, leaving only a couple of hours the next day. They like Ocala because they find lots of inexpensive hotels to spend the night at.

We drove from lake charles to orlando 3 years ago. It wasn't a bad drive. We stayed in Tallahassee on the way there. Look on priceline and bid for a room. You can get a 3+ star hotel at a very good price.

Hi! By now you've probably taken your trip. We drive from New Orleans to Disney every trip. We always leave at the same time: 3am and stop only for gas, restrooms and a sit down lunch (usually a Cracker Barrel). We can make it to Orlando by 3pm. My DBF and I take turns driving and napping. We always go to the parks that day, after checking in. I love the drive because it's more relaxing than flying, gives DBF and I a chance to connect and slowly build anticipation over our trip. Part of the fun is the journey, right? Plus, you can pack a million items.

We also rent a sedan to drive. It usually costs $250 for 10 days and the gas is less than one discount airline ticket.
