We will be driving down from Salisbury, Maryland and need a recommendation as to where to stop and spens the night around South Carolina or Georgia.

Some place inexpensive, but decent since all we will be doing is sleeping there.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Melissa

WE live in Glen Rock Pa. (just north of the MD/PA. border) and when we drive, we easily make it to Brunswick, Ga. the first day. There we stay at the Hampton Inn--clean, safe, and within walking distance of a couple of restaurants. The whole Brunswick area has a # of motels, so you should be able to find something that suits!!

We live in the MD suburbs of DC and we stop at one of the exits around Savannah, GA and that worked well for us. The trip the next day wasn't too bad - we got to the WDW hotel right about 2:30 the next day. We stayed at a Country Inns and Suites (there are a couple right off the interstate in Savannah) and that was nice. You can get regular rooms or ones with a separate bedroom. Seems like there was a Cracker Barrel next door where we had dinner. A light breakfast was included with the hotel. Check out this site for I-95 travel if you haven't already: http://www.usastar.com/i95/homepage.htm There are also some priceline hotels around Savannah that could work for you if you're so inclined.

We stop at Santee, SC(1 hour from Georgia border) at the Holiday Inn. It was renovated in 2002 and we paid around $55/night. Many people try to make it to Brunswick though! It seems like a popular stop! We would have a hard time making it there...as we are just 5 miles from the New York state border!

Thanks everyone for your replies!
