Since we currently live in Boston we usually fly Jet Blue for our WDW vacation. Looks like by the next vacation, probably December, we will have relocated to MD, just outside of Baltimore.

DH thinks we should try driving and I am all for it. Generally he drives as I am bad with merges and rotary and downtown traffic. Of course, I am fine by myself but I give him stress which gives me stress so he drives :-)

So, from what I can see by mapquest, and AAA triptiks it looks like just a matter of getting to 1-95 and pretty much cruising for say 15 or so hours LOL. Am I correct in this assumption?

I can definately do a straight highway strip for a while to give dh some needed rest if that is the case.

So from what I can tell we are looking at at 15 - 16 hour drive which means we will stop overnight. Can anyone recommend a good 1/2 point, by city and or even hotel to rest at?

TIA
TJ

We always drive. It takes 16 hours usually, unless you hit a traffic problem. It really is a pleasant drive except for the area from DC to richmond. So we often travel very early ( 4-5 am) through there. Usually we stay in Brunwick Ga if we leave later like noon, it is about 4 hours from there. Nancy

Thanks Nancy, trying to get excited about the move and driving to WDW may help me and the kids get through it LOL -

16 hours and pleasant - that is sooo what I wanted to hear.

If you don't mind me asking, where in GA do you stay or do you just play it by ear. Thanks again

The drive ONCE PAST DC is pleasant--!! Don't forget that you do need to get thru DC.
WE leave on Friday 3:30 AM just to be certain to get by the Mixing Bowl NLT than 5:30 AM. BY 5:00 PM (and that includes a full breakfast stop and a # of rest/gas stops) we are in Brunswick Ga, where we always stay at the Hampton INN. A gharrer says, it's only about 4 hours (or so) from Brunswick to WDW.
Any particulars about the drive, etc just PM me. We go down again in early OCT, so I'll always do an I-95" update when we get back.
