Driving from Long Island

Wife has decided she wants multiple vacations this year so to save money we are driving to Orlando instead of flying. Have not done before so all help will be greatly appreciated. Best route and so on....

We have drove quite a few times from LI...this is what we do...we leave around 4:30am...the first time we stopped in Lumberton but now that kids are older we drive to Savanna,Sc. There is a big exit with a lot of hotels and food..the next morning we leave around 8am and arrive at Disney around noon. We take i95 the whole way down....the is always traffic in Viginia so be prepared

I've driven from ct twice. Always 95. That was before GPS on phones could take you around traffic. We stopped in ocean city for a night on one trip and one of the Carolinas for another. The ride down is fun...the rife home-not so much

I agree the ride home is not fun...this trip we are taking the auto train home
