We have done this drive before 2 different ways, 1st time straight through down I75 after working all day....man that was tough. 2nd time did it over 2 days I77/79/95. This time we are planning on leaving at about 2AM and driving straight through with the I77/79/95 route.....has anyone ever done this??? We figure we will get into Orlando around 10PM is that about right??? We are going in Sept so weather won't be a issue.

Thanks

I have driven that route-just never left at that time of day:o

When we drove we left around 9am and got in around 8am. Weather permitting it is a much nicer drive than I-75.

Mapquest puts the drive from TO to Orlando at about 21 hours. I think getting there by 10:00 would be pushing it (you'll need to stop for gas, food, bathroom breaks, etc).

We drive I75 from London and leave after dinner with the kids in their PJ's. This way they are ready to sleep it is usually around 7 PM that we get away. Darren will sleep during the day while I take the younger 2 to adventures on wonderland to play while the oldest is at school. We order pizza and eat on paper plates no dishes that way. We get the van loaded and put the kids in and off we go. We will drive through to Valdosta and stop for the night there. We stop for breakfast at the Georgia welcome centre on the way there usually arriveing at around 8 AM or so get the kids changed and get them some cereal to eat. We take an electric cooler makes a great portable fridge for the drive there and home. We then will stop at the Macn bypass at the rest area just at the start of the bypass for lunch this is a must as the kids love this place. We then arrive in Valdosta usualy around 3 or 4 in the afternoon and stay for the night at the Fairfield Inn with a coupon from roomsavers it is about 42 dolars for the night. You get a free continental breakfast with that to. We find doing it this way gives everyone a good nights sleep in a real bed and the kids can play and relax afterwards at the hotel makes mom and dad happy to cuz we get to have a shower and get clean after sitting in the car for so long. The next morning we check out after eating and get on the road around 9 AM or before we always stop at the Florida welcome centre for the free orange juice and some park maps etc and a pic of the kids under the Welcome to Florida sign we arrive at the resort about lunch time and check in then go for a swim and relax and then go to DTD for the evening.
