Driving from Illinois....

Has anyone driven from the Chicago area to Orlando lately? Once into Indiana, I generally take highway 65 south through the state into Kentucky/Tennessee. However, I have been reading a lot about construction that could be severe not only in Indiana but south of Louisville, KY on Highway 65. Any updates?

Has anyone driven Highway/Route 41 (southbound) in Indiana as a southbound alternative to get into the Kentucky/Tennessee region?

Dim from new I Diana and they are doing major construction in Lafayette making it into a four lane highway. As of last week they were still doing the support system in the bridges and doing most of the work at night. But it's gonna get worse and lasting till 2017. As far as Louisville I'm not sure we are headed down next week.

Is 65 ever NOT under construction?

You could take 57 through Illinois and cut across Kentucky.

Yikes, we are driving down from Michigan soon, so this is good to know. I had us on a time schedule, too........

Hmm... we are leaving in 2 weeks and I wasp lanning to take 65 - I hate 57... so I too am interested in the construction. Is it just annoying or really bad?
