We will be driving from D.C. (Bethesda actually), leaving about 12:30pm. Trying to get an idea of where to stop for the night. Thinking about probably 10pm or so...how far do you think we will get by then? Any nice, clean, relatively inexpensive will do. Thanks for your help.

If your looking for a nice area to stop going south to WDW we have stopped (when we take two days to go down and back) in the Santee, St. George area of SC. We have found nice, clean, reasonable places to stay from Exit 98 to exit 56 on I-95. Where we stop all depends on how tired we are when we get to this area. We usually don't have a problem finding a place to stay without having a reservation (although I have heard of a few nightmares). If you plan on going further the first day try Savannah, Pt. Wentworth, or Brunswich GA areas. Many hotel & motel chains at these exits.

We too stop at Santee, SC! The Holiday Inn is really nice! If you want to drive a little further, try Brunswick, Georgia!

We live in the Columbia area and stopped in Savannah at the Country Inn and Suites. The hotel was wonderful and they have an indoor pool which my kids really enjoyed. We only had to drive about 5 hours the next day I think.

I've never posted to anything like this before but after lurking for some time I knew this would be the place to come for answers. Thanks again!
