We did it Jan 2006 and I wouldn't do it again, it was about 110 miles further and took us 21 hours while the 57/25/75 normally takes us less than 18..
What we have done a few times is take 57 down into Kankakee County, hop over onto Rt 41 and take that down to 74, then across into Indy. Lets us avoid 80/90 up here, keeps us from heading west by taking 57 all the way thru Illinois.. For us, seems like a nice little compromise between the two routes..
We are leavong in a few weeks, any road construction that we should take under consideration when deciding which way to take???
